Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a research-based practice that can help with a range of relationship challenges and provide you and your partner with the tools and resources required to move through your current difficulties.

Couples therapy can be used to address communication difficulties, infidelity, relational conflict, improving intimacy and sex life or fostering a greater sense of understanding and connection.

Through seeing a couples therapist you will learn how to identify and build upon the strengths of your relationship. You will develop problem solving skills for relational conflict and deepen your sense of friendship and admiration for your partner.

How do I know if it’s for me?

Couples therapy is not only for couples in long-term, monogamous relationships. It is often helpful to engage with support early on in your relationship so as to understand potential challenges before they are creating major difficulties.

Couples therapy is for everyone and is sensitive to gender, sexuality and cultural difference. The skills and resources that you gain through therapy will help regardless of relationship structure or dynamic. Couples therapy is equally beneficial for same-sex or non-heteronormative partnerships, polyamorous relationships, cross-cultural relationships, family members and friendships.

You will have an initial session to determine the suitability of couples therapy in your current circumstance, and to be sure that I am the right fit for you.
